Evaluation Qu 7

Looking back at you preliminary task, what do you feel you have learned from it to the product?

At the preliminary task we included the 180 degree rule, where we filmed only one half of the class room. We used eye-line match, where the suspect is looking up and the next scene shows the audience the clock that he was looking at. Match on action where the investigator is walking through a door and it carries on into the next scene. Also over the shoulder, where both actors have conversation.

Compared to our product, what we learned in the preliminary is what we used in our product. We used the 180 degree rule where we only filmed on one side of the celller. Also we used eye-line match, from the man watching the deal take place and the next scene shows us what he was looking at with the parcel being handed over. We used match on action from where the feet of the thug is seen walking down the stairs and carries on in next scene to stepping on glass. However we didn't include over the shoulder because we didn't want a load of dialog in our product.

The preliminary task we also included editing of off - screen sound of the clock ticking, compared to the product we used non-digetic sound of music in the background of our product. Also in the preliminary task there was a lot of dialog, as in the product we kept dialog to a minimal.

In our preliminary task, the costumes were not planned, in the filming we wore smart clothing. The quality of the shot used where moving fluidly and the quality of the image has a strong colour and lighting. However compared to the product the costumes where planned, in the filming we wore casual blacked out clothing. The quality of the shot was holding the camera steady. The quality of the image was a dark lighting, in some scenes it was difficult to see.

Evaluation Qu 6

What have you learned about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

What I have learned is the different types of camera shots and why they are used such as, long shot is used to show the audience the whole shot, not just one person. Medium shot is used throughout filming to show the audience a normal shot. Close up is used to focus on someone or object. Extreme close up is very similar as close up. Point of view, to show the audience what the actor see's. Over the shoulder, to show conservation between two actors. Low angle to show someone's powerful. High angle to show someone's weak.

I have learned different types of editing, such as; Over the shoulder, where in conversation between two people. The 180 degree rule, where its filmed on one side of the setting. Match on action, where one shot links into the other and eye line match, when someone looks at something and next scene show us what it is.

I now know how to use a cam recorder as at the start of media I never knew how to use one. I know how to use a boom mic and a tripod, how to set up and put away.

I have used many software programs such as premier pro, editing the film together. Photoshop, to create the ident for our product. Blogger, how to create posts and create labels. Youtube, up loading videos to youtube.

People who watched our final filming thriller, commented that they like the font style of the names of people involved in the film and the final name piece of the film.

This is the enigma of the story, this hold the audience attention and keeps them entertained and makes them to keep watching on the enigma was the package, what is the package? why is it important?

Audience Feedback

Within our filming that we produced, i showed friends and family and told others to tell others about it. Things what people said about the filming was about the lighting. They said that the lighting of the film was pretty dark, making it difficult for them to see. However for improvements we should filmed during daylight, not night time. Also it was said that the size of the film was too short, the audience said they would of like to see the filming to be a bit long and it was exciting and it would of been better if it was longer. But people said that they really enjoyed the film and said that they could feel the hostages pain as they watched it, also they said they loved the ending.

Screening

When we finished our product we had to have a way to show people our final product. To do this we posted out product on you tube for other people around the world to see, evaluate and comment. Also we posted a blog about our product, so people can also see, and watch and comment on this. To show my family i streamed the link of the video from my phone to my TV using a flash drive called Google chrome.

Designing/Making: Tile Sequence

The name of our film is called "The Collection", this is because during the film a collection deal is in place with a parcel. For the title sequence we used a black background and a white font. The font we use is ORATOR white. As the font is white and the background is black, the title stands out to the audience.

Designing/Making: Ident

Our ident was made using premier pro we took an image from Google of the evolution of the human being and decided to call it Stone Age Studios. we took a sound effect of a monkey screaming and used it as background noise, so when the film starts if the viewer is not pay attention the loud disorientating sound will catch the attention of the viewer. we used the name Stone Age Studios as the thought as the picture show the evolution of the human and it starts at the Stone Age we thought it went well.

First Draft/Evaluation

This is the first draft of the thriller opening. As you can see it is not completely finished, but wanted to show the audience a quick look to see there views. As its the very first it was not the best, there were many errors. During the filming, there where many scenes that needed to be cut out as we did something wrong and didn't film correctly. But this is just a quick summary of what it will look like.

This is what im going to talk about we are going to include to the finished thriller.

Build up
A small clip of the thug switching the switch, and another scene where you see where the hostage is hep when the light appears, you will see foot steps walking down the stairs and stepping on glass.

Violent part
A scene where the thug pulls the hostage around the room and water boards him. This torture's the hostage and shows the thugs in control.

Non-linear narrative
This is when the flash back comes in place and shows what happens before, we are going to add the thugs partner watching a deal go past where we will use eye line match.

Editing 1

Editing 1

Today Ayush and James have finished the editing of the film, during the edit they have cut out all the swearing and all the scenes where something hasn't gone too right. The editing was the hardest bit of the film this is because me and James are not very good with the technology but as time carries on we shall get better. Even though the editing didn't take so long Ayush and James agree that the film is looking really well.

In this Ayush and James were editing the film, it took them a while trying to get rid of all the bad scenes. During this they also made the studio idents for the film.

In the first day of filming we have chosen the location, its in the cellar pub this is where the victim is tortured, on our first day of filming we have successfully finished the whole film, this is because how much time we have spent filming. Furthermore, during the first day of filming we have gone from the celler of the pub to near an alley way where the package is then dropped off to Joey. We have spent a lot of time and effort into making this film and after we shall hope to get all of the editing finished ready to view and make sure it's all up to date and in check.

Third Production Meeting

Production 3

In this part of the production, we have finished the film and we're just looking at the film making sure everything was to its best level, furthermore we were also deciding on how to edit the film and what parts we need to cut out of the film and what parts we should leave on.
During the third production stage we also decided whether we should leave the film ending as that or change it around.  We decided to keep it the same because we think it will look better.

In this picture we was watching out film, making sure everything was good. We all agreed that our picture was decent and there was nothing that had to be changed. Apart from a few edits we all likes the film.

Synopsis:
At the start of the filming, a man is walking down an empty road, and a car come out of no where hits the man in the head, puts a bag round his head and throws him in the back of the boot, then the car drives off. We then see the outside of a rough garage. The next scene is pitch black with the sound of breathing. Its inside the garage, and a shaking light shines. Two men approach the tied up man and demand for the missing money. The man does not agree. One of the men, punches the interrogated man, throws him to the ground and pushes his head in a full bucket of water. The mans head lifts up and spits the water and blood from his mouth. His girlfriend gets pulled out and and the man says tell us or she dies. You see the mans head shaking and then the man shoots the girl.
